Made with Clay studio is thriving and I feel very lucky being surrounded by creative people all day long. There are differences between us that make us an individual but making is the thread that ties us together. I work full time in the studio with my sidekicks Zara and Alice, but I am among my people, whether they are able to have their own studio and be in it all day, just coming to us for a few hours to connect, update skills or get feedback or whether they come for a few hours to sit making with others and for that I am grateful.
I am told it feels like an inclusive safe space and that people feel nurtured. I think that is what people need to make art that feels genuine. Being part of Digswell Trust, Fenners studio with other artists is where I found the confidence in my own work.
Although I don't get as much time as I would like to make my own work, I still am and always will be an artist. I make when I can. Ceramics, paint, drawing. I think being able to think creatively is like getting a golden ticket in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I would have liked long legs aswell, but you can't have everything.
